Fillers
Fine Lines & Wrinkles
The best filler for fine lines and wrinkles are made of Hyaluronic acid (HA). This acid comprises 40% of your skin, so adding more is never a problem. It is easily injected, feels smooth, and the two best brands are Juvederm and Restylane.
Juvederm
Duration: 6-12 months
Cost: $800/mm
Deeper Folds and Volume Placement
There are two options: Radiesse and Fat injections.
Radiesse is made of the same minerals found in our bones mixed into a biocompatible gel. Though it is commonly used to reduce wrinkles and creases it can also work on the nasolabial folds and depressed scars.
Duration: 12-24 months
Cost: $1,500/1.3 cc
To Note: painful upon injection. Can not be used on lips.
Fat Injections harvest fat from your own body so there is no chance of rejection or allergy. What’s more, most of us have plenty of fat to go around, so shifting small amounts to other parts of the body is easy, natural and very cost effective. Fat transfer is the filler of choice for cheek/chin augmentation, lip enlargement, and for adding volume to the nasolabial folds or marionette lines. The only downside has been the durability of fat…until now.
I have developed a new technology called the Viafill Systemâ„¢ that may extend the durability of fat injections so they maintain their plumping qualities for more months.
Traditional Fat Injections
Duration: 6-48 months
Cost: $1,500-8,000
Viafill
Duration: 12-48 months
Cost: $1,200-2,500
Other Fillers and Treatments
Collagen is a protein that makes up a large component of your skin. As you age, collagen levels fall, and the skin begins to thin, which is one reason it sags and wrinkles. Doctors can inject collagen into wrinkles in your forehead and around your mouth and lips to plump up this skin.
Duration: 3-5 months
Cost: $400-600/mm
To Note: Though results are temporary doctors have used collagen for many years and have many happy patients.
Botox is not a filler, but a neurotoxin (poison) that when administered in tiny doses paralyzes muscles in your face, thus “erasing” unwanted wrinkles between your eyes, on your forehead and the crow’s feet around the eyes. It’s less effective for the wrinkles around your mouth or the folds of skin on your neck.
Duration: 3-6 months
Cost: $400-1,200/treatment
To Note: Botox can also be used to reduce sweating in those who perspire excessively and to treat muscle tension headaches.

Implants
Chin Augmentation: Corrects a weak or small chin (a weak chin is when the tip of your chin projects forward less than the base of your nose in profile). When the chin is made stronger, the size of the nose appears smaller and the neck appears longer and better defined.
Cheek Augmentation: Adds fullness to the face. For patients with long, narrow, rectangular faces, cheek implants add width to the middle of the face, making it appear more oval. Implants can also make flat cheeks appear more cherubic.
Nose Implants: Used to reconstruct noses that are depressed because of trauma or previous surgery.
There are two different types of implants:
Solid Silicone are medical-grade pieces of solid silicone. They have an excellent track record and side effects are minimal.
Porous Polyethylene (Porex) is used like silicone, but because of its porous structure, tissue grows into the implant making it less mobile. This is good most of the time, but it makes removal close to impossible. For most patients I advise silicone.
