Breast Reduction
Large breasts often cause back, neck and shoulder pain, not to mention unsightly skin irritations.
Breast reduction surgery removes fat and glandular tissue. In the old days, techniques focused on skin excision but this left sagging, flat breasts and permanent scars. Newer techniques rearrange the actual breast tissue which leaves you with a perkier looking breast that will hold its shape for much longer. These new techniques also use liposuction to remove fat in the breast and in the armpits.
The newer procedures require more skill than previous techniques, so choosing the right surgeon is essential. I have over a dozen years of experience performing the Lejour, Hall-Findlay and Goes breast reduction methods.
For larger reductions I prefer the Lejour Technique as it yields a more natural, perky look with less scarring. The cleavage is also fantastic! I reserve the Hall-Findlay Technique for any patient with previous scarring above the areola.
The Goes Technique is ideal for smaller reductions and for younger patients with less sagging. It reduces the patient’s breast with a small scar around the nipple. Since the Goes Technique means your nipples are less likely to lose sensation it is less likely to impede your ability to breast feed.
