Breast Lift

There are two fallacies about sagging breasts. One is that they are the result of excess skin, and over the years doctors have created many procedures to deal with that problem. However, these processes leave large scars and the results are temporary since no actual breast tissue is remodeled.

Another mistaken idea is that post-pregnancy sag can be corrected with implants. This is only partly true. I have revised the breasts of many unhappy patients who had large implants placed by other physicians but who really only wanted a slight increase in volume.

For those women who desire some volume as well as a lift, I developed the “tear drop” breast lift. This technique reshapes breast tissue, lifts the nipple, corrects asymmetry and enlarges the breast. Incisions are made around the areola which makes scarring almost imperceptible. For more on breast lifts, I recommend you read my book, Cosmetic Breast Surgery: A Complete Guide to Making the Right Decision—from A to Double D.
